First I just want to say...so many of us have Lisa on our hearts today...I am thinking of her and praying that all goes well. As many of you know I will be Lisa's voice while she is recovering. I am so happy to do this for her. We will all wonder how she is doing and what a great way for us to stay updated. I will post an update for you as soon as I hear from her! I talked with Lisa on the phone yesterday and let me tell you she sounds just as sweet as she is. We talked like we knew eachother forever. I am sure you other blog friends out there have experienced this...you feel like you know someone so well...just from connecting with them in blog land! :) Blogging is a blessing!
I want to share some bunnies I got from Lisa. I had seen one like it on her blog and asked her if she could make me one. Well while she was at it she made three! Of course I couldn't choose..so I chose TWO of the three!! lol!! I just love them...they are even better in person! And being the sweetie Lisa is she sent them to me and told me "Happy Easter"! They hopped right into my paper mache boxes!!
Next was a little Goodwill makeover. I haven't had too much time to do many of these lately...but I did get this one done. This was my wooden crate that I got for 99 cents!
Here is the before~
And here is the after~
The prim bunny in my wooden crate was from that same prim shop Primitive Treasures that I have talked about before. I went back last Saturday and picked him up, some more grubby battery taper candle lights and a great oak basket! I LOVE everything~
Then I went thrifting for a bit on Saturday! Here are my goodies. I have been looking for a little clock like this for a while now. And I LOVE the crock bowl (it was $3.00)! Everything else pictured was 99 cents and the little strawberry crate was 59 cents! And more molds for pantry cakes!
THEN...I found what I had been looking for! I had been wanting a wooden rake just like this one! And I found it for $4.99 at the Salvation Army thrift store!! I am going to either stain it or paint it black..not sure yet...distress and sand it a bit (I want it to look old) and then I am just picturing a twiggy wreath and some herbs hanging off of it! The lady at the thrift store asked me "what are you going to do with this"? When I told her she said "Wow it is always fun to ask people what they will do with their finds" I told her that I was excited to finally find one and she said "I just love it...it is all about the Thrill Of The Thrift Isn't It"? She was a sweetie! Fun day!
I also wanted to show you my blackened beeswax lamb I got from Gramma Frans Fixens! I just love him....he is scented in Berry Hotcakes and he looks so good sitting on my kitchen table....my husband always walks by and says "what smells so good"!? :)
Well that is about all for today. I am off to fix lunch for the boys and then off to preschool! Until next time. Take care. ~Sarah~
What great thrift store finds. Can't wait to hear how Lisa got along. She is definitely in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI hope everything is good with Lisa, but I am sure it is. Her bunnies that she gave you looks wonderful. I never thought about taking the top lid off of my boxes to make a display. Neat idea!
ReplyDeleteI love all your thrift finds and I can't wait to see what you will do that rake. I know it will look great!
You really got some neat things. I like what you did with the handled crate. It's very cute! I hope your friend has a speedy recovery. Nancy
ReplyDeleteI really like what you did with the crate. What good finds you have! I wasn't impressed with my last trip the prices were too high. I'm looking forward to see what you do with all of them.
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteLisa has been on my mind and in my prayers all day, too. I emailed her yesterday & she sounds so positive. Love the bunnies she sent you and all of your thrift store finds. Love your beeswax lamb, too. Everything is displayed so perfectly. Have a blessed Easter.
