Spring Salt Dough Preview

Hello everyone, hope you have all had a great weekend so far! I have been busy making Spring salt dough fillers. I thought I would share a little preview of them. If you are interested I will have them available for sale mid-March. I am getting ready to go on vacation, I will come back revived, refreshed and ready to make, bag and tag more fillers!

I got some vintage cookie cutters that I am so excited about. I am always on the lookout for unique cutters and I was really excited to use some of my “new” old cutters on the batches I just finished.

Sharing A Few Family Treasures

Snow…what??…Yep, we are in for some snow. Hard to believe that not long ago we had temps around 70 degrees! Even our kiddos are not excited about the snow. But never-the-less, we dug out their heavy coats and hats and they headed off for school. I am guessing they won’t be having recess. The flags are flying straight out today…sooo windy and cold!!

I thought I would share a few more treasures that my Mom and Dad brought to me last weekend. I  cannot tell you how happy I am to have these wonderful mementos. I will definitely display them, take good care of them and pass them down to our children. I am also SO glad that these items are in my possession and not sitting on some shelf in a Goodwill or antique store. I just couldn’t bear the thought of it!

This is a bowl that belonged to my Grandmother, my Mom’s Mother. I just LOVE the color and design of it.

It looks beautiful with the Ball jars my Mom also brought to me. You will notice that both of these things are in my blog header photo. New “old” favorites of mine!

My Mom says she remembers her Mother using this bowl all the time when she was little. Lots of goodies mixed up in it I bet.

Grammas Bowl Jars Lemons

Here is another treasure Mom and Dad brought with them. A McCoy planter. It is in perfect condition. Great green color!

Love the design on this too.

They also brought my school desk! This was in my bedroom when I was little. I am so happy to have it. Now my kids can use it!

Love the ink well and pencil groove.

School Desk2

I think the wear on the top gives it so much character.

School Desk3

Thank you Mom and Dad for sharing these special treasures with me. They are in good hands and will be shared and enjoyed for many more generations.

I need a hutch to hold everything! I want to display some of these things together in one place. My Mom has a hutch for me too that she says I can refinish any way I want. Now…we just have to get it to our house!

:: A Sprinkling Of Luck ::

Hello! I hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday! I got some Shamrock bowl fillers done today. I found some vintage Shamrock cookie cutters on Etsy and I was anxious to try them out. And the best part, I can display the cookie cutters too!

I don’t normally decorate for St Patrick's Day, but this year I think I might! I have a wooden Shamrock for our front door that I need to get out too! I guess it is time to Go Green! :)

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Have a great evening everyone!

Until next time, take care.

Spiced Pumpkin, Why Not?!

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a good day! I have been crafting today. Working on Spring salt dough bowl fillers! It is still chilly here, but working on bunnies, chicks, flowers etc. makes it feel more like Spring!

While I have been crafting I have been enjoying Spiced Pumpkin in my IndianTrail Pottery tart warmer. And I say, Spiced Pumpkin…why not?? Fall is my most favorite season and I enjoy the scents of that seasons any time of the year! I am working on a Spring craft and it smells like Fall! It’s a confusing but yummy combination!

I guess I will always be drawn to the comfy, toasty, warm Fall aromas! The tea light glowing inside is Creamy Vanilla…Mmmm!

:: Coffee Shop ::

Hello friends! Stopping in for a quick post! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far. Ours is uneventful but that is good. We needed a little down time. And we needed some time to catch up on the housework after a busy week!

Just thought I would share what’s burning tonight. Coffee Bean from Village Candle. Our house smells like Starbucks! Mmmmm….I am burning it along side VC’s Vanilla Caramel Swirl! It smells just like a Caramel Macchiato! I don’t drink coffee but I sure do love the smell of it!  So warm and toasty on a rainy night!  I can hear a little rain hitting the window….that sound is so calming.

Along side this is……heavenly ::

If you haven’t already tried it, burn two complimentary scents together sometime. The results can be delicious! You can make all kinds of wonderful combinations, use your imagination!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Until next time, take care.

:: A Sweet Surprise ::

Happy Friday ~ Happy Weekend friends!! My weekend started off wonderful. First of all my hubby had the day off. He got his new surround sound all set up in the basement. He is like a child with a new toy. I know he will have fun with it and I am sure he will be enjoying a LOUD manly action movie tonight!  :)

Next we went and worked out together at the YMCA. So fun, we stopped off afterwards for some healthy smoothies. Then we went to pick up all of the kiddos from school. We got home and THIS was on my doorstep!

DSC09398

It is from my dear friend Kathy. Handmade by her, what a very special gift. I will cherish it FOREVER! Kathy and I have never met but we have built a wonderful friendship across the miles. She is one of the most kind and genuine people I know. I am so blessed to call her my friend.

Here are a few more photos. I will post more photos when I find its permanent, special place in our home. These photos are straight off of the mail truck and out of the box, I was so excited to share I couldn’t wait!

A Quick Trip To An Antique Shop

It is BEAUTIFUL here today! 69 degrees and sunny! We are in for a cool down so we need to enjoy this weather while it lasts! Fingers crossed that the weather man is wrong. But I think this is too good to last.

I dropped our son off at Preschool and made a quick trip to an antique shop. Tried to stop at a couple other shops but they were closed…boo hoo! But I did find a few things that I am very happy with!

I have been addicted to little butter crocks lately. I love the look and the size of them and they come in so many different finishes and colors. And the best part…they are economical, the two I got today were $4.00 and $4.50. Can’t beat it!

But my favorite find was this butter press! I have ALWAYS wanted one but the ones I have found are just too expensive. I found one today for $24.00! Yippee! That is a price I will pay!

It is a pineapple and I LOVE it!

I couldn’t be more happy! I finally have a butter press. I don’t know if it will be the start of a collection because I think it could be a very expensive collectible. I am fine with this one for now…but I will still be on the lookout for more!

I am going to get out into this beautiful weather. Take a walk or take the kids to the park or both. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Until next time, take care.

:: What A Crock ::

I hope you are all having a great week so far. Wednesday is upon us! It is sunny and beautiful here today. Still a little chilly, but I am not complaining. Super day for a walk outside!

Yesterday was a great day for me. I got some goodies in the mail and some goodies from my sweet husband!

I placed an order with Indian Trail Pottery. They offer the most amazing handcrafted pottery. I chose the Rusted Barn color. It is even more gorgeous in person! I can’t wait to find special spots for each and every piece.

The two in the back are the 3/4 gallon crocks and off to the right is the utensil crock ::

DSC09340

I also ordered the black tart warmer. LOVE this ::

DSC09347

And these adorable soap trays with the most wonderful smelling handmade soaps ::

DSC09344

It was so fun to place an order with Tarrah and her husband, they are both so talented. I was excited to know that my pieces were being individually handcrafted. In this day and age it is SO important to buy handmade and support talented artists likeTarrah’s husband…and Tarrah too, check out her wool acorns!

Visit their BLOG and you can see Tarrah’s beautiful photos of their pottery.

Thanks guys!! I will enjoy my pieces for years to come.

As if my pottery delivery wasn’t enough. My husband comes home with these ::

Three crocks! I LOVE them all! He asked me if he was a good “picker” and I said “YES”! He did GOOD! Thanks honey…what a wonderful out of the blue surprise! XOXO

Needless to say, yesterday was a GREAT day! Today, I am having fun placing everything around the house…AND doing some laundry….not so fun! But that’s o.k…. It’s all about balance right? A little of this and a little of that! Gotta find time to workout too! I better get busy!!

Have a fantastic day!

Until next time, take care.
