Here is what they looked like all naked:
And here they are now:
I cannot tell you how exciting it was and how fun it was to be painting again! I am sure any of you out there that paint and create understand the satisfaction and the pride in doing something yourself! I was painting the doughboard and distressing it ~ when I put the stain on at the end I could not believe how the wood came alive! I know it sounds so silly but it was just like this spark in me was re~lit! I was like "well what do you know" it's really turning out!! :) Once I started there was no stopping me.....I finished all three projects in one day! My Mom and Dad are coming for a visit tomorrow and I am so excited for him to see everything all done! It was just like old times~Dad cut it out and put it together and I put the finishing touches on! I told him that next on my list is a toaster cover and a shelf for my basement and he said "well just send me some pictures of what you want"!!! Aren't Dad's the absolute best!!
Can't wait for everything to dry completely so I can put all the "fun stuff" on them! I will post more pictures when they are all decked out! Until next time take care. ~Sarah~
Here is my Webshots address if you want to see close up pictures of the doughboard, tabletop bench and the whales tail shelf: http://community.webshots.com/user/deeb5
I love them!....But then again I love working with wood!!!...Can't wait to see the toaster cover!....Make sure and share a pix with all of us...and you know you can't stop with just the toaster cover....he must make you a matching coffee pot cover too....hehehehehehe!

Love them all!! I know what you mean about painting...I really miss it if I don't paint often enough. I want a cover to sit on my stove-top, but don't know where I would sit it when I cook. Can't wait to see how you decorate them.

Hi Sarah!
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC job! Your dad does wonderful work and your painting just added the perfect touch!
I love working with wood too :)
Love all your pieces!
Have a wonderful day-Kath
Hi Sarah! You and your dad make a great team! I love all your new goodies!
ReplyDeleteI was reading some of your webshots...where did you get that windowpane? Was it at the log cabin by Roca? If it was, isn't her shop a lot of fun?! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, there is a log cabin outside of Roca that has a prim shop. She sells the "real thing" when it comes to primitives and can be quite expensive sometime. But it's sure fun to go. I haven't been there in forever, I don't like bringing the boys with me. LOL There is always a prim shop in Roca which has some goodies as well-Sweet Annie's Primitives
I hope you are having a great week!
Well you know I think you DONE good already! I am so happy your dad can make things for you - what a blessing! looking forward to seeing what comes next! Hugs, Linda
