~Fall Fillers Are All Finished~

Hello again, I know…I just blogged yesterday and here I am blogging again today! I love having some extra time to myself to do some of the things that I love.

I got my Fall salt dough bowl fillers done! I thought it would be fun to take you through all of the steps through pictures! So here we go~~~  FYI…This post is loaded with photos!

This is how they started out, they look a little “naked” don’t they?…..

Here they are painted~

Here they are sanded/distressed~

Here they are in the “staining” process. After sanding I brush them with watered down craft paint, then dab off the excess with a paper towel~

“Stained”

Dipping in wax. Make shift double boiler filled with some plain paraffin, a left over yummy soy candle and I added some pumpkin scented oil too~

All dipped~

Making more soon, some other ideas hit me while i was making these!  The options are endless!  The great thing about this project… NO stress! You cannot mess up! Your first coat doesn’t have to be perfect because you are going to be distressing and sanding them anyway. That is the wonderful thing about primitive, the more aged they look the better! If you try these have fun!

I am hoping to work on some makeovers this weekend! We will see how it goes and what the weather is like. Right now I am listening to a really nice thunderstorm. Love it!

Until next time, take care.

~Sarah~

  5. Oh Sarah Sweetie...
How beautiful they all are. I can't say which I love more, but those sunflowers sure are tuggin at the old heart. They remind me of home in Oklahoma. Fields of sunflowers just shinin at the sun, following it all day.

Thank you for sharing with me this evening, as I surely have enjoyed seeing the beauty you brought to the table tonight sweetie.

    Country hugs, Sherry
