It is a dreary day here today. But that’s o.k. I just finished a cup of hot tea. Yes… I said tea. I have tried so many teas and have NEVER found one that I like! Seems they all sound so delicious but when I taste them it is like I am drinking dirty water (sorry to all of you tea lovers out there)! BUT……I found one I LOVE and I got a tip that changed the way I look at tea! Adding a Tablespoon of HONEY to my tea made ALL the difference! SO yummy! The kind of tea I just had is from Lipton and it is called Vanilla Caramel Truffle. As I said, I added a Tablespoon of honey to it and it was delicious! And what a perfect day for it! Give it a try!

My first recipe that I have been talking about posting is from a VERY special friend of mine named Susan. There is a funny story behind this recipe. Every Fall I make this Spicy Party Mix and without fail EVERY year I misplace this recipe! And EVERY year without fail Susan emails it to me again and again! My disorganization has almost become a tradition…and I hate to break tradition! So thank you Susan for sharing it with me once again so I can share it with my blog friends! :)

Crispex Spicy Party Mix
12 oz box Crispex cereal
2 cups KIX
2 cups pretzels -broken
1 pound can cashews
2/3 cup oil
½ tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 ½ tsp chili powder
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dry mix (original buttermilk mix)
Mix cereal, pretzels, cashews in roaster : mix oil etc. together pour over cereal mixture. Stir well. Bake @ 250 stirring every 15 minutes for 1 hour

Now if this doesn’t become a favorite of yours I will be shocked. WE LOVE it! I always make a double batch and it always gets eaten. *** Just a note*** I have been known to add other things to this that I have in my cupboard such as cheerios, cheese nips crackers and there is a WONDERFUL cereal out there from Quaker called Crunchy Corn Bran…let me tell you, it is delicious and I ALWAYS add it to this mix! So as you can see, anything goes! So make it and munch away!

One other recipe that I wanted to share is:

Hot Chocolate Milk Mix
25.6 oz. Instant Non Fat Dry Milk
1 lb. Instant Chocolate Mix (Nestle)
6 oz. Jar Non Dairy Powdered Creamer
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
Combine all ingredients, mix well. Store in a tightly covered container.
When ready to drink. Add 1/4 cup of mix to 1 cup hot water.
Makes 50 Servings
I make this and package it up in tins and give it as gifts for the holidays! It is so good! Enjoy!

I thought I would share a couple pictures of my bathrooms, nothing too exciting। Just added a few Fall touches to them as well

This is just a little display on my bedroom dresser~

That is about it for today. Time to get back to the laundry. I keep waiting but it is not doing itself. Darn. Have a wonderful day, wherever you are and whatever your weather. Until next time. Take care. ~Sarah~

  1. I was the same way with tea until I figured out putting a little sweetness (either honey or sugar) made the tea taste better and I didn't have that yucky bitter aftertaste anymore.

Thanks for the little photo tour. I love to see fall in everyone's home!

The fall touches look so neaT and prim in your bath. I think I have to learn to hook rugs after seeing how pretty your pumpkin one looks. Your home is always prim-perfect!

  8. Tea is a lot better with honey! I drink Red Tea from the Republic of Tea brand. It is so good, and is high in anti-oxidants.
Thanks for the great recipes! The mix sounds really yummy.
Your house looks so warm and cozy. I love the pumpkin rug.

  9. Hi Sarah,

Glad you found a tea you like! I love plain hot tea, but am not a big fan of flavored teas, so I'll have to try the honey!
Love the hooked rug in your bathroom, and all your other displays. Beautiful as usual!
    Enjoy your weekend!

    Prim Blessings,
