Antique Mall Treasures & Two Small Makeovers

Happy Monday everyone! I know I just blogged yesterday, but I thought I would pop back in today and share my new (old) treasures from the antique mall yesterday. And I took a couple pictures of my two small makeovers. I warn you, they are small, nothing major!

Here is a sign that I got at the antique mall. The color was perfect and I knew right where it was going to go when I got it home~

I got this jug and this crock, I LOVE the finish on both of them! The speckles and crackles. I always wonder, who owned these and how did they use them? If they could only talk!

Here they are with a tiny festive Fall touch. Haha~

If you are wanting one of the great wooden dough boards I use in so many of my displays they are made by Lisa She makes them in two sizes! Just shoot her an email if you are interested!

I got this large crock bowl. It is 12” across and really deep!

It was a FUN trip to the antique mall!  My hubby and I always have fun wandering the aisles going back in time!

Here are my makeovers, the first one is rather boring but completely functional. I have been wanting to get it done forever and I finally made the time.

A wooden letter holder that I got from Goodwill for $4. The light blue flowers… have got to go Bye Bye!

Not sure this is where it is staying. The lighting was not good for my pictures. But it is base coated black with some red. I wasn’t happy with the way it turned out so… after seeing Colleen’s colorful blog post I painted Burnt Sienna over the top of the whole thing. Sanded and stained it with dark walnut. Love ,the color now. But like I said the pictures aren’t a very true color.

So in a nutshell, that is what I have been up to over the past few days! It’s just that time of year when it is fun to decorate your home in wonderful Fall colors, go to craft fairs, antique shops and squeeze in a couple of makeovers!

Have a great day doing whatever it is that you decide to do! Maybe you have no plans whatsoever, and sometimes those can be the best days of all!

Until next time, take care.

Lots of Fall Goodness To Share

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! We had a fun-filled, jam packed weekend! This post will be loaded with photos from the last few days. I hope you enjoy!

I finished decorating our porch. All I did was add some real bittersweet to my pumpkins, once I added it I thought that was all it needed!  The bittersweet just pops and adds SO much color!

These next photos I took might seem silly but I got all of this beautiful bread at The Great Harvest Bread Company for our family that came this weekend. So I thought I would have a little “bread photo shoot”!

Look at the Honey Whole Wheat Spider, complete with raisin eyes! Too cute!!

On Saturday we went to the Pumpkin Patch. We all had a great time and bought a ton of pumpkins! The temps were high considering it was October, but a gorgeous day!

I did a little more decorating inside. Here is where my new little crow  (also made by Alison)ended up, in one of my grapevine wreaths. Tucked a little faux bittersweet in for some color~

Pumpkins, Gourds and Mums Oh My!

Hello everyone! I hope you are having beautiful Fall weather wherever you may be! It has been absolutely gorgeous here lately! The leaves are turning, in fact my extra camera battery is charging and I am going out  and about this week to take some pictures of mother nature Autumn style!

Today, my daughter and I went to get some pumpkins for the front porch. Last year I had some heirloom pumpkins that I just loved, so I went back to Earl May to get some for this season. They had all colors, shapes and sizes, it was SO hard to choose!

Here are my heirloom pumpkins from last year~

Obviously I took these photos tonight, I will take better ones, when they are all arranged and tweaked a bit. This is just where everything ended up after I brought them home.

We had a great time, and we took our own sweet time picking pumpkins, it was perfect! Did I mention…. I LOVE Fall?? Haha!

Here is a picture of my daughter the scarecrow! Awwww… good times! :)

I found this quote and I just love it~

“Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive Autumns.”  ~George Eliot

I would surely take Autumn all year round, wouldn’t you?

Until next time, take care.

Looking More Like Fall At Our House

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! The weather here was beautiful, couldn’t have ordered anything better!

I am STILL working on my Fall decorating. If I don’t stop tweaking I will never be done! After tomorrow I should be finished, then I can start on the front porch! :)

I went to a Fall Open House yesterday,  a shop called Primitive Treasures. You can visit Alison’s Etsy  HERE. I got some great prim stuff! I am so excited!

I cannot tell you how many times I have looked at this jug. It is crackled and amazing and I finally bought it!

The wonderful shaker cheese basket was handmade by Pam It is the perfect backdrop for so many of my displays for all seasons~

Close up of the crackles~can you tell I am so happy to finally have it?~~~

I also got these great handmade black pumpkins~

And this prim pumpkin went on our front door to welcome our friends and family~

It is SO fun to get some new things to put out for the Fall season!

Here is my Fall flag swingin’ in the breeze today~

I changed my doughboard (again). I can’t seem to leave it alone. Oh well, I am sure it won’t stay this way either~ Haha~

How are you all doing on your Fall decorating? Isn’t it a perfect time to clean and rearrange? Except I am finding that with the beautiful weather and the windows open, the dust is very plentiful! Oh well, it is worth the smell of fresh air in the house!

Until next time, take care.

Autumn In The Sunlight

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful Fall day. I thought I would share a few photos with you. I noticed the sun shining through my kitchen window today. And thought I would have a little “sunlit photo shoot”. The colors of Fall are like no other. I couldn’t resist capturing it before the sun set for the day.

Just a peaceful little photo post today. Without a lot of words. Autumn needs no words. Take some time to look around you and enjoy the beauty of this magnificent season that is upon us.

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came ~
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~George Cooper, "October's Party"

Until next time, take care.
