~ Antique Mall Finds~

Hello everyone. Thought I would share a few new goodies I found at the antique mall the other day. The 4 gallon crock has cracks in it....but I don't mind. I got it for $15 If you ask me, cracks add character! :)

The antique mall was having a sale so I started a collection of jugs! I love the maple leaves on them! I also got the faux bittersweet sprays. And the twigs were already included with the one jug. Freebies are always good! I will post pictures when I get them all nestled in their new spots~

I also got this jug. Can't wait to use all these jugs in my Christmas decorating!

Got a couple makeover candidates the other day. Can't wait to get to work on the wooden bowl. It is BIG! I got it for $10!

Hope all of you are having a wonderful day where ever you are. It is a chilly, gray one here. My workout is done for the day, I have a roast in the crock pot and I am all ready to relax for the evening.

Stay tuned for makeovers. Hopefully I can get to a few of them this weekend! Until next time. Take care. ~Sarah~

A Few Things To Share

Another rainy Fall day here today. Great day to take it easy and watch some football. I haven't posted for a little while because we had a visitor from a "little" virus named H1N1. :( Everyone but me has or had it. Some are on the mend and some are still fighting the cough that seems to linger forever. I am crossing my fingers that I can continue to stay healthy. Do you hear that sound??....that is me knocking on wood.
I purchased a Halloween pinkeep from Lisa. I ordered it and two days later it was in my mailbox! Thanks Lisa, I love it and I was SO excited that I could get it before Halloween...you are speedy!
I hung it off of one of my cutting boards~

I also thought I would share my new dishes! I am so excited to use these for Thanksgiving and Christmas! They are a great neutral color called Mocha. By now I think you all know how much I love browns, reds, mustards, black...all the rich, dark colors are my favorite.

Here are my heirloom pumpkins! Aren't they great?! I had visions of putting these into my wooden wheelbarrow with some straw, berries, gourds etc. But with the family being sick and it being so wet and rainy out that hasn't happened. Maybe before Thanksgiving I will get them displayed. But for now here they are all wet and drippy!

I love to imagine these displayed on a huge farmhouse table with real bittersweet, leaves and candles running all down the table.

That is about it for today. I hope you are all doing well and staying away from all of the nasty germs that are floating around out there. My best friends right now are...... Hand Sanitizer, Clorox Wipes, Bleach...you get the picture! Until next time, take care. ~Sarah~

~Pumpkin Patch Eye Candy~

Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch was wonderful! Here is some Pumpkin Patch eye candy for you to enjoy! Fall is truly the MOST beautiful season!
I call this photo: "The pumpkin nobody wanted" In amongst all of the chaos and hundreds of people and thousands of pumpkins...I look over and here sits one lonely pumpkin. I would have bought it but we had already paid for our pumpkins and the line was way too long. I hope someone took him home~

Mmmmm~

There were SO many Mums~

The sun was setting on the scarecrows~

I hope you enjoyed your virtual trip to the Pumpkin Patch!! Until next time. Take care. ~Sarah~

A Trade With A Prim Friend & A Little Shelf

Just a little post tonight. Sitting here under a warm blanket. It is a chilly night. Feeling blessed to have a roof over our heads, a furnace to keep us warm, our family sat around the table and had fettuchini chicken alfredo for supper. So many things to be thankful for.

Tomorrow is pumpkin patch day, it is supposed to be perfect weather. We are keeping our fingers crossed and my camera battery is charging! I think I just might treat myself to a caramel apple or a funnel cake! Yummy! :)

I wanted to share some goodies that I got from a sweet friend of mine. I have never met this friend in person, but I can tell you she is such a caring person with a heart of gold. I am so glad to have "met" Dana. I was going to order some of her pumpkin tarts. I sent her an email and she suggested we do a trade! Trades are so fun! So of course my answer was yes!

Her candles, tarts, pantry cakes etc. smell wonderful! Look at all the handmade goodies she sent me!

Here is where I put three of the little pumpkin tarts~

Right next to my Ball jars filled with dried gourds and acorns~

Here is a little shelf that I got at the antique store for $10.00. I feel a makeover coming on! I am thinking of painting it black (go figure)! Afterall is there any other color!! :)

I also redid my kitchen table centerpiece. I used one of my large resin bowls and filled it with pumpkins, gourds, acorns, leaves etc. I love how full it is....it looks like a true "Harvest".

Time for bed, tomorrow will be a busy day! Thank you to everyone who visits my blog! I appreciate all of your kind comments so much! They are a joy to read! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, take care. ~Sarah~

It's Friday! A Few Goodies To Share!

Happy Friday everyone! Another chilly morning, but I think it is supposed to warm up and be a pretty nice weekend. We are going to try the pumpkin patch outing again, beings the last trip was postponed due to SNOW! Icky! What is Mother Nature thinking?

I just had to share the few goodies that I got in the mail yesterday! This package made my day! I had ordered a sign and a candle round from Kath. I couldn't be more pleased! Her work is amazing, I think I got them hung and displayed right out of the box!! :)

I decorated my doughboard for Fall~

Isn't the candle round beautiful~

Here is the matching Give Thanks sign. The pictures do not do it justice. The lighting is off in these pictures. Not sure what was going on. But the sign is the most gorgeous Fall colors. I love the font and it is primmed up and finished just perfectly~

She was even kind enough to tuck this little sign in my box! What a surprise! Can't wait to put it out for Winter! Thanks Kath! For everything! :)

Here is a shelf that is in my basement. Notice Kindra's wonderful Fall Welcome blocks~

I am going to end my post with this bright and sunny picture that I took before the snow fell. I left my bee skep out, I just stuck a crow in it for Fall! I hope my Mums survive all of these frosty mornings and chilly nights. Fall....Please come back~

Happy weekend to you all! Until next time. Take care. ~Sarah~

It is a dreary day here today. But that’s o.k. I just finished a cup of hot tea. Yes… I said tea. I have tried so many teas and have NEVER found one that I like! Seems they all sound so delicious but when I taste them it is like I am drinking dirty water (sorry to all of you tea lovers out there)! BUT……I found one I LOVE and I got a tip that changed the way I look at tea! Adding a Tablespoon of HONEY to my tea made ALL the difference! SO yummy! The kind of tea I just had is from Lipton and it is called Vanilla Caramel Truffle. As I said, I added a Tablespoon of honey to it and it was delicious! And what a perfect day for it! Give it a try!

My first recipe that I have been talking about posting is from a VERY special friend of mine named Susan. There is a funny story behind this recipe. Every Fall I make this Spicy Party Mix and without fail EVERY year I misplace this recipe! And EVERY year without fail Susan emails it to me again and again! My disorganization has almost become a tradition…and I hate to break tradition! So thank you Susan for sharing it with me once again so I can share it with my blog friends! :)

Crispex Spicy Party Mix
12 oz box Crispex cereal
2 cups KIX
2 cups pretzels -broken
1 pound can cashews
2/3 cup oil
½ tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 ½ tsp chili powder
1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch dry mix (original buttermilk mix)
Mix cereal, pretzels, cashews in roaster : mix oil etc. together pour over cereal mixture. Stir well. Bake @ 250 stirring every 15 minutes for 1 hour

Now if this doesn’t become a favorite of yours I will be shocked. WE LOVE it! I always make a double batch and it always gets eaten. *** Just a note*** I have been known to add other things to this that I have in my cupboard such as cheerios, cheese nips crackers and there is a WONDERFUL cereal out there from Quaker called Crunchy Corn Bran…let me tell you, it is delicious and I ALWAYS add it to this mix! So as you can see, anything goes! So make it and munch away!

One other recipe that I wanted to share is:

Hot Chocolate Milk Mix
25.6 oz. Instant Non Fat Dry Milk
1 lb. Instant Chocolate Mix (Nestle)
6 oz. Jar Non Dairy Powdered Creamer
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
Combine all ingredients, mix well. Store in a tightly covered container.
When ready to drink. Add 1/4 cup of mix to 1 cup hot water.
Makes 50 Servings
I make this and package it up in tins and give it as gifts for the holidays! It is so good! Enjoy!

I thought I would share a couple pictures of my bathrooms, nothing too exciting। Just added a few Fall touches to them as well

This is just a little display on my bedroom dresser~

That is about it for today. Time to get back to the laundry. I keep waiting but it is not doing itself. Darn. Have a wonderful day, wherever you are and whatever your weather. Until next time. Take care. ~Sarah~
